Went to my first Saturday meeting at WW today. I had to switch days since I will not be WFH for a while. It's better for me because I get to go with my sister now. The leader is good and there was a lot of audience participation today. I don't want to be rude and say there were a lot of crabby old people in the Wed group, but there were many senior citizens that were not particularly joyous most weeks. I can't really complain about the age dynamic at my center because it's located by 3 'Sun Cities', but it's nice that there are some from my age demographic on Saturday. Jus saying... OK, I'll shut up about the old people.
Had a good weigh in today - I lost the 4 lbs I gained Christmas week. It was a hard week for me because the busy season hit hard at work, but I love this time of year. I had planned on hitting the gym each day before work, but didn't happen. I did make it to my company fitness center on Monday and ran on treadmill for 30 mins and then weights for 20 mins. I swam on Wed, but I just could not get up early Thursday or Friday. I got up early to go to WW today, but then I had to work a half day. I know, excuses! I did OK with my eating, but I feel I can do better. It's a start of a new week, so I'm motivated. Sundays will be my only off day form work for January, so tomorrow I want to have a really good workout. Maybe Spin class, maybe swim.. I don't know.. Something good. I'll still plan to workout before work each day next week. Really want to get 2 weight lifting days in. I know this is really key to revving up my metabolism to drop some pounds.
I added another event for 2013, and this is a big one for me - Esprit De She Tri in May. It's big because it will be my FIRST open water tri. I've always wanted to do one, but never had the nerve. I'm doing the super sprint, so the swim is only a quarter mile in the lake. This will totally be out of my comfort zone. I won't have the blue stripe and the lane markers guiding me. I'll have murky lake water and a bunch of flailing arms and legs all around me. I'm so excited just thinking about it!
