Slump has Passed!


It's amazing how the podcasts I listen to address the issues that I am currently experiencing. I listened to the latest Half Size Me podcast yesterday. I usually don't listen to Heather's Monday podcasts until Thursday, but I was feeling like I needed a little something. It was perfect! Michelle from Diary of an Aspiring Loser discussed slumps and how to get out of them. Recognize that it is a slump and know that it is temporary. Motivation will come back. Hang on and make the best choices. Be gentle with yourself and don't go overboard. Keep motivational keys around - like keep going to the gym - even if you don't work as hard. Sometimes you need a break from the structure of weight loss and that is OK. It can re-invigorate you to get back into losing mode. Michelle also mentions the book Beck Diet Solution, which does not give a diet, but discusses the emotional aspects we go through when attempting to diet. Think it will make for a great read on my trip to Texas this weekend.

So, I rounded up the courage to go to WW this morning. I missed last week and I've been a bit out of control, so I was dreading seeing the number go up. Well, I stayed completely the same as 2 weeks ago! No weight loss, no weight gain! I love it! I survived my slump! Now I am more invigorated to get back on program and get into Onederland once again. I've got the Monster Tri this weekend and I am determined to finish strong!
