There was a time when I was a regular at Spin Class, but then I just stopped. For one thing, I changed gyms. My old gym had the class in a dark room with black lights. My new gym has it in a bright room with floor to ceiling windows looking out on to the main part of the gym. I think for some reason I've just been self conscious about going into the bright class. In the 2 years at this gym I never went to Spin, until this past weekend and I LOVED it!
Yes, I do a lot of road cycling, but Spin is different. You don't have to worry about balancing, bad roads, or traffic. You just get on and ride.. and sweat, which is the best part. I burned some serious calories in the 70 mins I was on the bike on Saturday. The computer indicated a distance of 20 miles, so we were really spinning fast at times. I thought I would be sore the next day, but I totally was not. Must be the running and biking I've been doing lately. I did another 16 miles on my mountain bike on Sunday and it felt great! Can't wait to see what my bike time will be at the Thanksgiving Tri this year. Should definitely see an improvement!
