Back in the Saddle

I took the summer off from biking, but today I started again.  My first venture out on my bike in a while.  I’ve been working on strengthening my legs (I’m no longer sore) so I’m ready to start riding on a regular basis again.  I’ve got 2 months until my next tri.  I’m so going to be ready!

It’s been so hot and humid (monsoon time in AZ) and this morning was no different.  It was overcast, muggy, and wet.  It sprinkled a bit, but nothing major.  I just went out for a short ride (6 miles) at a slow speed (13 mph) so I wouldn’t crash on the wet pavement.   I almost got hit by a truck when it came barreling out of a side street…. the guy didn’t even look.  But, we caught it on time.  He apologized and I said ‘it’s ok’ and we went on about our business.  He was wearing scrubs, so I figured he was a doctor or a nurse heading out to take care of people.  It’s all good.

My Garmin shows the elevation in my hood.  Same loop I do on my runs… slight downhill, slight uphill.  Felt good to get back in the saddle again!
