How am I going to do it this time?

Anyone that has been obese most of their life experiences the same thing I am - Start.. Fail.. Start.. Fail...Start...Fail....  So, how do you accomplish the Success?  Many people have, as you can see in all the blogs out there.  Most have experienced the S..F, but at some point, something clicked.  What is that something for me?  I think I may have a plan....

Something clicked when I was listening to the Half Size Me podcast, episode 13 Weight Loss Success Story with Colleen from TheFitBee.com. First of all, left me just say that Colleen is what I tried to be after losing weight on the fast.  She is an amazing athlete.  I totally got into exercise - and loved it!  I started running and experienced the runners high.  I ran 5 and 10ks and 7 half marathons.  I especially enjoyed training for and competing in Sprint Tri's.  But I lost that drive in 2012.  I want it back damn it!  OK, what clicked for me is when Colleen indicated she does Weight Watchers and Paleo.

This year I have been highly influenced by low carb.  I gave up grains and all processed foods (except for my binges - let's be honest).  But I can't see myself going so low carb to a ketonic state - too close to the fast that I was on 5 years ago.  I listened to Paleo podcasts, which incorporates some aspects of low carb, but excludes dairy.  I can't give up my heavy cream or greek yogurt - nope can't do it! So, I cannot say I'm a true low carber or true Paleo.  I did do Weight Watchers (several times) without much success because I allowed myself too many cheats, but I did love the accountability aspect.  My last time on Weight Watchers was in 2010.  I didn't lose weight, but I did stay the same 183 lbs.  I maintained for a year!  I dropped off when they switched up the points and just became frustrated that I wasn't losing.  I feel my clean eating aligns most with the Nutritional Weight and Wellness way, but I am not doing it consistently.  So, what I am going to this time is on Weight Watchers follow the Nutritional Weight and Wellness meal plan that was created for me.  I will attend the weekly WW weigh in meetings and eat only real whole foods - no grains or anything processed, and count points.  I am very excited about this because it gives me a nutrition plan that is not too restrictive, but makes me accountable to keep on track!  I just checked the schedule and plan to attend my first meeting on Wednesday morning!
