21st Tri!

Wow, it's feels like a long time since I last posted.

I had my annual physical and I was psyched about my blood results.  I'm officially no longer a 'pre diabetic' since I lowered my a1c from 5.8 to 5.4!  My HDL even improved going from 80 to 87 and my Tri's went down even more from 50 to 48!  Even my LDL went down from 177 to 163.  For the 1st time in forever I was not pressured to go on a statin!  My doctor finally gets it!  And having lost 20 lbs didn't hurt either.  I got the ball rolling, now I need to continue and get the scale moving down.

Competed in my 21st Tri on Saturday - Litchfield Tri in the Park.  This is one if my favorite Tri's.  I so underestimated my swim at 9 min and was given # 134 out of 155 competitors.  I passed about 5 people and finished my swim in 6:23 for 300 yrds.  So going to get a lower # next year.  I'm amazed at how my swimming continues to improve. For this race, it has gone from 8:24, 7:11, to 6:23.

I have increased my running, but tweaked my knee during the tri so taking it easy this week.  Instead of running yesterday, I did a 6 mile walk. Did my Tuesday swim this morning, so feeling pretty good.  Started tracking again, so hoping to be more consistent with that!  Next event coming up is the Ride for the Children on Saturday, 25 mile bike ride through scenic Paradise Valley and Scottsdale. I have not done a lot of biking, so this should be interesting.
