Tri in the Park

Completed my second tri for the season on Saturday, Tri in the Park in Litchfield Park, AZ. It's one of my favorites because it is only 20 mins from my house.  I felt strong in the pool and had another PR - even passed the guy who started 20 secs before me. I switched up the gears on my bike and had a pretty fast ride.  Run as always sucked!  Walked most of the way.  Cannot wait til I can run with confidence again.

I've added another tri to my Spring schedule - this time in my town of Surprise.  It is a half mile from my house so I will by riding my bike to the event!  How nice not to have to mess with my bike rack the night before the race. Super excited for this one.  It will be my 4th of the year and the last one for this season.  I will pick back up again in the Fall. Want to focus on my running this summer.

Another sad day on Monday.  I was over my parents house, painting a bedroom, when I heard the news of the Boston Marathon bombing. I cannot imagine what those runners were feeling as they were approaching the finish line and 2 bombs went off.  I am from Massachusetts, so this hit home.  The dad who lost his 8 year old son actually graduated from Salem High, 3 years after I did.  Such a small world.  It is crazy times that we live in and I do not see it getting any better, just worst.  We really just need to live every day to the fullest because you never know when it could be affected by an evil tragedy.  And this is what I am doing!
